Master’s students of the EMBA program “Strategic Management and Leadership” of the

Higher School of Economics at Astana International University have successfully completed an

international research internship organized at the Institute of Human Resources of Sharof

Rashidov Samarkand State University.

The internship was held from April 27 to May 23, 2026, and brought together 25 master’s

students and faculty members of the program. The internship program focused on current issues

of strategic management and modern leadership in the digital economy. During the training,

participants explored strategic thinking and managerial decision-making, strategic analysis tools,

contemporary leadership concepts, organizational change management, digital transformation,

ethical leadership, corporate culture, innovation, and sustainable development. The participation

of international experts and faculty members from Samarkand State University added significant

value to the internship, as they shared modern approaches to strategic management, leadership,

and organizational development in the context of global change.

A rich cultural and educational program was also organized for the participants. The

master’s students visited world-renowned landmarks of Samarkand, including Registan Square,

the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the Shah-i-Zinda Complex, Ulugh Beg Observatory, the Imam Al-

Bukhari Mausoleum, and other historical sites. This experience allowed them not only to expand

their professional knowledge but also to gain a deeper understanding of Uzbekistan’s rich

cultural heritage. The internship concluded with the presentation and defense of mini-projects,

during which participants demonstrated the knowledge and skills they had acquired in strategic

analysis, leadership, and change management. Upon successful completion of the program, the

participants received international certificates confirming 120 hours (4 academic credits) of

internship training.

We congratulate our master’s students on the successful completion of the internship and

express our sincere gratitude to the leadership and faculty of Samarkand State University for the
