Astana International University (AIU) has concluded a series of large-scale meetings with the delegation of the leading Malaysian university — Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). This visit was a vital step in implementing AIU's internationalization strategy, confirming our university's status as a key scientific and educational hub in Central Asia. The cooperation, the foundation of which was laid on April 11, moved into the phase of developing specific global initiatives during the second part of the meeting held on April 27.
For our university, the partnership with UPSI represents a strategic breakthrough. During the negotiations, the parties focused on issues of increasing global competitiveness, joint promotion in international rankings, and the implementation of long-term development strategies. The exchange of experience in internationalization will create conditions for the deep integration of academic processes, opening access to the world's best educational practices for AIU students and faculty.
During the visit, Malaysian colleagues paid special attention to studying AIU's research potential. The delegation explored the university's advanced infrastructure, visiting the laboratories of analytical chemistry and physicochemical analysis. The guests highly praised the technological equipment of the laboratories, noting their readiness for conducting high-level joint international research.
The campus tour also included a visit to the biology methodology classroom, where modern approaches to teaching natural sciences were discussed. Furthermore, UPSI representatives visited the University Museum, which reveals the history and values of AIU, as well as the creative workshop — a center for the development of talents and creative industries at our university.
The results of the visit have laid a solid foundation for launching joint educational programs and research grants. The alliance with Sultan Idris Education University has become a powerful impetus for AIU's integration into the global scientific space and improving the quality of education through the implementation of Malaysia's advanced international experience.
